Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY) is an umbrella Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Culture aimed at preserving, promoting and disseminating India’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage by providing financial assistance to artists and cultural organizations.

Major Components of Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY)

• Scheme of Financial Assistance for Promotion of Art & Culture:Repertory Grant: Supports Guru–Shishya Parampara; Guru – ₹15,000/month, Shishya –  ₹2,000–10,000/month,

• Financial Assistance to Cultural Organizations with National Presence will get assistance up to ₹5 crore.

• Cultural Function & Production Grant (CFPG): Supports seminars, theatre, music, research, etc.; up to ₹5 lakh (₹20 lakh in exceptional cases).

• • Preservation of Himalayan Cultural Heritage: Grants up to ₹10 lakh/year (₹30 lakh in exceptional cases).
  • Preservation of Buddhist/Tibetan Heritage: Grants up to ₹30 lakh/year (₹1 crore in exceptional cases).

• Scheme for Creation of Cultural Infrastructure: Building Grants (including Studio Theatres), Assistance for Allied Cultural Activities, Tagore Cultural Complexes (TCC).

• Scheme of Scholarship & Fellowship for Promotion of Art & Culture:Fellowships for Outstanding, Persons in CultureScholarships for Young Artists,Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research

•  Artists Pension Scheme: Pension of ₹4,000/month for indigent artists/scholars aged 60+ years with annual income below ₹48,000.

• Seva Bhoj Yojana: Reimbursement of CGST and Centre’s share of IGST on specified raw food items purchased by charitable/religious institutions providing free meals.

•  Scheme for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH): Financial support to institutions, NGOs and communities for documentation, preservation, promotion and revitalization of India’s intangible cultural heritage.
