CISF DG’S DISC
The Director-General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) awarded the DG’s Disc to 19 CISF personnel for their exceptional operational performance during Operation Sindoor in May 2025.
ABOUT THE DG’S DISC
- Nature: The Director-General’s Disc is an internal service-level honour awarded within the CISF. It is not a national civilian honour.
- Criteria: It is conferred for exceptional operational performance, exemplary courage, special acts of service, or contributions that significantly enhance the operational efficiency of the force.
- The 19 awarded personnel were recognized for their successful defence:
- Drone Neutralization: They neutralized hostile drones targeting the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) installations, contributing to protecting the site and civilians.
- Civilian Evacuation: Amidst heavy shelling, they conducted door-to-door evacuations of ~250 civilians (NHPC staff and families), ensuring zero casualties.
- Asset Protection: They secured the armoury, redistributed weapons to prevent destruction, and reinforced bunkers.
- Comms Continuity: Maintained critical communication via POLNET and satellite systems when standard lines were disrupted.
