- Implemented by ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) to study climate change impacts on agriculture.
- Currently district-level risk & vulnerability assessment completed for 651 agricultural districts using IPCC protocols.
- 310 districts identified as vulnerable, with 109 classified as ‘very high’ and 201 as ‘highly’ vulnerable.
- Climate-resilient technologies demonstrated in 448 Climate Resilient Villages, including:
- System of Rice Intensification (SRI)
- Aerobic rice & direct seeding
- Zero-till wheat
- Drought/heat-tolerant crop varieties
- In-situ rice residue management
- Demonstrations of drought and flood-tolerant varieties of rice, wheat, soybean, mustard, chickpea, sorghum, gram, millet.
- ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) conducts capacity-building and awareness programmes on quality seeds and good farming practices.
-
