“Hamari Dharohar” scheme
About the Scheme
- “Hamari Dharohar” scheme has been formulated to preserve the rich heritage of minority communities of India.
- The scheme provides for curating rich heritage of minorities under the overall concept of Indian Culture which includes curating exhibitions, preservation of literature/ documents etc. Preservation of minority heritage buildings has not been undertaken under the Hamari Dharohar Scheme.
- Hamari Dharohar scheme has now been merged as a component of Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme w.e.f. F.Y. 2022-23, aiming to improve livelihoods of minorities, particularly artisan communities, through skill development, education and leadership training, to support their entrepreneurship interventions.
Why in News?
- This information was given by the Union Minister of Minority Affairs Smriti Zubin Irani, in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
