About IDA

• The Island Development Agency (IDA) was set up in 2017 following the Prime Minister’s review meeting for the development of islands.
• IDA focuses on holistic development of Islands. 
• IDA is chaired by the Union Home Minister.

Why in News?

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 7th meeting of the Island Development Agency (IDA) in New Delhi.
