Initial Public Offering (IPO)
About IPO
- An IPO is an initial public offering, in which shares of a private company are made available to the public for the first time.
- IPOs provide companies with an opportunity to obtain capital by offering shares through the primary market.
- A follow-on public offer (FPO) is when a company already listed on an exchange issues new shares to investors often to fund expansion, reduce debt, or improve financial stability. The offer is an issuance of additional shares made by a company after an initial public offering (IPO).
