• In Punjab, efforts to make the state completely drug-free are going at different levels currently. 
• The state government also started the mission ‘Hope Initiative’ in this regard.
• The Hope Initiative, conceived by Amritsar Police commissioner Naunihal Singh, encompasses the elements of ‘Pray, Pledge, and Play.’ 
• Under the initiative, thousands of youth gathered at the Golden Temple in Amritsar with a common goal to eradicate the drug menace in Punjab.
• Donning yellow turbans, patkas and dupattas, these youths collectively prayed to the almighty seeking strength to fulfill this sacred mission, aimed at eliminating the curse of drugs from the state.
