What’s in the news?

• Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has released India’s First “District Good Governance Index”.
• The District Good Governance Index of Jammu and Kashmir was prepared by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, DARPG in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir government.
• The Index provides a roadmap for similar benchmarking of Governance at District level for all States and Union Territories of India. Speaking on the occasion, The index will ensure a healthy competition between the districts.
