Most of the people like to get up early in the morning even if there is no proper theory to prove that doing things early in the morning can prove good results. This can be absurd. People might want to wake up early due to many reasons like jobs, kids, domestic tasks etc. If it is for students, it is seen that they prefer to study in the morning as it is said that the mind and body will be fresh at that time. But many of us find it difficult to wake up early. Dr. Roman Saini here suggests some practical tips that can be followed in order to tackle this problem.
- Give personal time for yourself
Giving time of yourself will help you to think. It is suggested to get up early at 5 or 6 in the morning and take one hour to think. You can think about these things like:
- What to achieve in life?
- What I have achieved?
- What I have done/doing is right or not?
Thinking these things will help you have a proper idea of things to be done on each day. You can also use this time to reflect on your progress or making sure that you are on the right track.

Reason is the most important factor that helps you to wake up early. It can motivate and guide you in this cause. If there is a strong reason, your brain will automatically produce signals to make you wake up .For e.g., Students who have an exam the next morning are more likely to wake up even without alarms. Reasons can be different for each person. For some people the reason can be health issues and wanting to exercise early in the morning, for others it can be just developing a good habit, while for students, it can be for their studies.
- Correct your night routine
To wake up early, it is important to go to bed early. It is said that 80% people suffer from distractions due to various social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram etc. This will cause you to stay up late and wake up late consequently. Therefore, it is important to avoid all types of distractions. To make your night routine clear, follow the tips below.
- Mute all types of notifications
- Switch off your phone at least one hour before sleep
- If possible avoid doing tasks and studying at night
- Avoid other types of distractions that can affect your sleep
- Sleep Quality.
It is not the quantity but the quality of sleep is what matters. Seven hours of proper deep sleep dos more for your well being than nine hours of restless sleep. Avoiding all types of distractions will help you to improve sleep quality. It is also suggested to avoid drinking water before going to bed. This is because drinking water can make you use the washroom during sleep cycle and can affect your sleeping quality.

If you have money to spend, investing in scientific technologies like fitness bands can be worthwhile. This can tell you about the quality of sleep like the total hours you had deep sleep, hours of low quality sleep etc. This also has other health-related features.

There can be many sleeping disorders but the deep sleep disorder is one of the most common problems. Those who face this problem can follow these tips
- Keep multiple alarms/loud apps
- Keep your alarms at a high position like at the top of the almirah. This will make you actually stand up to switch off the alarms and that, in turn, will provide you with momentum to keep going about your day.
- Can seek the help of your parents/near ones to wake you up early
Getting up early morning is after all a habit. To develop this habit, it is important to have a strong reason or an ambition that can actually motivate you to wake up early. Understand that alarms and other apps can only supplement you to wake up, instead the most important thing is your determination and decision that matters in order to develop this habit.
