Have a vision of your ideal life.
To live an ideal life, decide on how it should be. When you have a clear idea, you can proactively design your life according to your goals. Ask yourself how your perfect day should be. Picture your ideal day. It should include what you do, the people you wish to be with, the places you want to go, and even your senses and emotions. This will give a better picture of your ideal life and help you distinguish between your real and ideal life. This will in turn get you enthusiastic and motivated enough to work accordingly to make your ideal life possible.
Focus on long term happiness.
You will waste time on momentary happiness when you can’t determine the most important things in our life. If you want to reflect on your life happily, be committed to things that give you long term satisfaction. Your primary area of concern should be your health and emotional intelligence. Good health and emotional balance help you to be proactive to face a crisis on your way to achieving goals. Decide on your priorities, rate their current status and work on the ones that are not apt for your vision of an ideal life.
Get to know your motivations
We may know what to do but don’t really get into doing it due to a lack of motivation. So, get to know the reasons that motivate your actions. Think about the factors that made possible your ideal day. This way, you can realize your motivations. Link these motivations to your emotions. Imagine and feel the pleasure when you have an ideal day. These emotions that you experience in imagining it will drive you to get into action.
Don’t let others decide your life.
When we make a decision, the people connected to you may question your decision and your ability to fulfill your decision. They may even pressurize you to change your decision. There is always a tendency for us to change ourselves on other’s opinions. Keep in mind that other’s definitions of success may not suit you. A clear vision of your dreams will let you answer other’s doubts. Be persistent and committed to your goals. It will help you succeed and eliminate others’ doubts about your decisions and ability.
Write down your goals and have a plan.
There is a chance for us to prioritize urgency over importance. To avoid this, create a ‘live it’ list. Unlike in a bucket list, a ‘live it’ list will note down your goals and the small steps to achieve those goals. By achieving these smaller steps one by one, you can have a steady growth towards achieving your goal.
Be grateful for the good things happened in your life. Your positive attitude will make your mind healthy which will be less prone to anxiety and depression.
Practice positive thinking to eliminate negativity.
It’s natural to face crises while on your way to achieve your goals. So, take positivity as the mantra of your life. It can help you withstand such moments to be focused and consistent in your action. It’s not so easy to think positively. So practice it. Before you start to do something, try to imagine the problems, emotions, etc. you may experience and live it in your mind. This mental rehearsal will give you experience and more confidence in facing a crisis.
Instead of thinking about your limits, think about your abilities. Empower yourself by telling yourself that you know how to do it or you can do it. Stop multitasking, work on one thing at a time. This will reduce your mental pressure and fear of failure.
Have a roadmap for your future.
Stretch your vision of an ideal day to an ideal life. Create a roadmap for your long term life/goal and formulate it by creating sub-goals. Think of your life goal as the final destination and sub-goals as your milestones. Program your days to surpass these sub-goals. Review your progress and update your vision of an ideal life.
A clear vision of your life with the help of your positive, determined and motivated mind can shift your real life into an ideal life.
